I cannot tell you how impressed I am by the leadership, courage and clarity of President Michael Lindsay of Gordon College. This is, in my view, the kind of leadership we need in Christian higher education. I will be watching and praying for Michael Lindsay with great hope and joy for Christ and his kingdom, which happens to be the motto of my college, Wheaton.

I have begun rereading Mere Christianity, and in the Preface, Lewis speaks so well to the attitude we should display to our fellow followers of the Way. If we seek to know the One in the center of our historical faith, it’s mere Christianity that will unite us.
Amen. This is the place we need to be to enter into unity with our eyes fixed on truth as it is in Jesus alone.
I’ve lived far too long sharpening very narrow axioms. I’m praying that the broader truths will fully capture my heart so that divine love will define the dimensions of my thought.

Mere Christianity is the place to land and begin one’s journey to better faith and practice, on the hard edges. Only from here can we engage the hard edges with love, or so I think.
