Mentorship to my understanding an application is a form of spiritual formation and discipleship, a spiritual fathering and mothering that is so missing in much of the Church. We have become disconnected within our “tribal” groupings, that we have forgotten our shared humanity, and our shared journey with God, both our personal pilgrimages, and our communal expression of life and community and service to others. The more seasoned people, in life and experience have much to offer to others, and vice versa, and that mentoring is a sharing of life and journey together with God and others that is needed in both the Church and the culture at large, for Jesus himself said, that we would be known by the love that we have for one another. So we are in desperate need of more love, and more brotherly and sisterly affection as we walk together. We are more effective for the Kingdom of God together than apart from each other.

“I am saved not because of who I am or what I have done (or didn’t do), but simply because I have accepted the infinite grace that was always offered to me.”

I admire Ms Cox’s courage in proclaiming what Matthew 25 seems a pretty clear rebuke to those in both her profession and largely on her side of the political divide, who would dismiss Christian belief as at best a charming faith adherence to outdated “Bronze Age” (sigh) folk tales, and at worst, a dangerous impediment to human progress. But I humbly suggest Ms Cox reacquaint herself with the clear message of Matthew 25: 31-46 if she really believes that what she does – or fails to do – has no effect on her salvation.

Added a superfluous Matt 25 to sentence 1 of my response above.
