I am incredibly self-conscious about writing this but my wife asked me to consider it. I try to listen to her wise advice so here goes.

What she said to me was, “Ask your readers at Thanksgiving to share one thing they are thankful for with regard to the ministry of ACT 3.” It sounds way too self-serving, as if I am fishing for positive comments. I also admit it feels good to know that someone believes that we are doing something valuable, something that has brought some small blessing into their corner of the world through teaching, preaching, writing or encouragement.

I will begin with this comment:

“I am thankful that ACT 3 allows me to meet so many incredibly interesting and courageous people who are so willing to follow Christ with radical faith and love.”

And further:

“I am grateful for the 25-30 local churches that I ministered in during 2006. Most all of these congregations opened their heart to me and allowed great blessing to flow both ways while I was in their midst.”

God has been so good to allow me this stewardship and to give me great friends who serve us in prayer and financial support while we give the work away at no cost to those who actually receive it.

Happy Thanksgiving my dear friends!!!!

I am thankful that ACT 3 allows me to see a man (who was once my Pastor and whom I loved deeply in the LORD – and still do) continue to be a voice for Jesus in a very needy world. Your continued willingness to be vulnerable reminds me to thank God more. Thank you God for John Armstrong and his family and for Your continued blessing of ACT 3. Those of us who are married should definitely listen to our wives more! From Alex Booth

I have only recently met you by phone and blog John, but I am thankful for someone who thinks outside the box, and reaches outside it to people like myself.
    Grace to you brother.

I am thankful for your willingness to listen to and respect a wide diversity of voices and Christian traditions while still sticking by your own particular theological opinions. I especially appreciate your willingness to listen to younger, emerging leaders such as myself and not immediately write us off as “postmodern heretics”. 🙂
You’ve definitely earned my respect and my thanks for that John.
    Blessings,

After all these years (more than half my life!) I can say that you keep me thinking. Sometimes you trigger the thinking. Other times God has used you to confirm thoughts he put into my head and heart. I know God has used Reformation and Revival Ministries and ACT3 to stretch me far beyond my comfort level!

I am thankful for your sane, humble, missional, ecumenically orthodox, and thoroughly biblical ministry. I am also thankful for how your ministry includes spending time with individual pastors, listening to them, loving them, and patiently pointing them to the cross.

I am thankful for John and the ACT 3 Ministry in more ways than I could reasonably list here. John, your humility and consequent wisdom that you have received from God have caused me to rethink many of the overly “certain” conclusions that I had drawn and gain insights to questions I didn’t even realize I was asking. My love and appreciation for all of the great Christian Traditions within the whole Church catholic has grown largely due to the influence of ACT 3 and the former Reformation and Revival Ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
    Nick
